summary: house rules: you have to kiss someone if you end up under the mistletoe together! hijinks ensue. (Koji+Kristopher)
notes: the fifth of twenty five kisses under the mistletoe at a Christmas party Nikos is hosting
"Get the door, would you?" asked Nikos, to no one in particular. He stood over the stove again. This was a dish too delicate to leave in Koji's tender loving care.
"Absolutely not," said Mariel. She sat on the edge of the kitchen table with Aya cuddled up against her. "It's either Silas or my uncle and I refuse to kiss either of them." She glared in the general direction of the mistletoe hanging in the hallway.
"Not it," Aya chimed in.
Abel, leaning against the opposite wall, shook his head.
"I think Silas would rather punch me in the mouth than kiss me," said Tristan, a little sheepishly. "Not that I fancy kissing your uncle," he added to Mariel.
"Well, I certainly don't either!" said Koji, annoyed at being singled out for this unpleasant task.
"You have an even chance that it's Silas," Tristan said reasonably enough.
Koji couldn't argue with that logic, and the doorbell was ringing insistently, so he downed the last of his wine and stepped out into the hall. "Comin' already. Jeeze, hold yer horses."
He pulled the door open, inviting in a blast of freezing air so strong it knocked him over backwards. It wasn't until he heard the wind shouting "Merry Christmas!" that he realized that he had been bowled over not by the cold air, but Kristopher, who was tugging excitedly on his hand.
"Merry Christmas, Kristopher," laughed Koji. He helped the boy out of his jacket and hung it on the rack, although Kristopher insisted on keeping his scarf.
"Glory loaned it to me," he explained. "He said to be very careful."
Koji left Glory to fend for himself and lead Kristopher down the hallway to the kitchen. "Mistletoe," he said, pointing up.
Kristopher frowned at the offending plant. Then he shrugged, broke out in a sunny smile, and kissed Koji on the cheek. Then he scampered off into the kitchen to greet the others, with Koji just behind him, not eager to be stuck under the mistletoe with Glory.
