Mulan presses one finger over Aurora's lips, quieting her apologies. She traces the corner of Aurora's lips, running her finger down her jaw, to her neck and one perfect collarbone, downwards until her hand rests, palm flat, against Aurora's chest. She feels Aurora's heart beating there, strong and steady.
In the stillness of the evening, Mulan can hear the quickening beat of her princess's heart as she pulls her closer in the dying light, until they are chest to chest and their two hearts beat as one.
