[poetry] 花より団子 (food over flowers)

title: 花より団子 (food over flowers)
rating: G
prompt: [livejournal.com profile] writerverse : Phase 3: Challenge 3: Weekly Fic 1: "tradition" and "time for a change"
language: Japanese (English translations)
notes: like the pretentious snotrag I am, I decided to give it a go and write my haiku in Japanese; the first poem is "tradition" and the second is"time for a change." personally, I love both aspects of festival culture here in Japan. (the syllable count works in Japanese but not in English…)

祭の季
鈴の響と
唱える音
festival season
the ringing of bells and
the sound of chanting
祭の季
焼そばの味
かき氷
festival season
the taste of fried noodles
and shaved ice

Very nice. I like the different images in each haiku
