prompt: Phase #3: Challenge #4: Table of Doom (drabble: "moon") + Table A - 045 Moon
word count: 102
characters: Jude
rating: PG13
content note: blood, broken bones
summary: Jude fights fate, but fate fights back.
Under the light of a bloody red moon, Jude closes the circle of his spell. Magic hums in the air around him, an electric buzz, until he joins the last two sigils with a flash like lightning. He wants to shade his eyes from supernova light, but every bone in his body is breaking with the laws of the universe and the living world turns to white blindness around him. Through the pain, he clenches his hands and bends nature to his will. It cracks with his ribs and he feels magic pouring out of him with the blood from his mouth.

prompt: Phase #3: Challenge #4: Table of Doom (drabble: "Be OK") + Table A - 072 Fixed
word count: 102
characters: Jude & Kristopher
rating: PG13
content note: mental health problems
summary: Jude can't get out of bed today, but maybe he will tomorrow.
Jude can’t. He feels it in the weight of his limbs and his eyelids and the way his head aches like a hangover, but he hasn’t had a drop.
There’s no magic for this. There isn’t an incantation he can write in the air to fight the history that pushes him down into the comfort and safety of his bed. There isn’t a piece Salomé can fix like her motorcycle, winding him like a clock.
Then beside him, Kristopher stretches and places a good morning kiss on his cheek. Jude knows that he won’t get out of bed today, but he has hope for tomorrow.
